In addition , the use of towels or rags contaminated fluid from trachoma sufferers can also cause a person infected with this bacterium .
If not treated , trachoma infection can cause entropion which is a form of permanent blindness and accompanied by pain when the eyelids turn inward , as this resulted eyelashes to scratch the cornea .
This infection occurs most vulnerable in children because it can not keep her full potential of impurities . However , the effects of severe blurred vision and other symptoms are often not recognized until adulthood .

Konjunctiva inflammation is called " active trachoma " and usually seen in children , especially pre-school children ( elementary ) . This condition is marked by a white bump on the lower surface of upper eye lid . Non - specific inflammation and thickening often associated with papillae .
Structural changes trachoma called " cicatricial trachoma " which include scarring in the eye lid with buckling of the lid until the lashes rub on the eye . The eyelashes can cause corneal opacities and scarring , as well as lead to blindness .

Discharge containing mucus and pus from the eye
Swelling of eyelids trachoma
Swollen lymph nodes in front of ear
